Adam Christopher Harold Hughes was born in Greece.
He is named after the dead son of the woman who found Craig on the beach after his plane crashed and he was presumed dead. His middle names are for Tom's grandfather Chris Hughes and Hal, Adam's biological father.
As a baby Adam was played by Hillary B. Smith's (Margo) son Phillip.
Due to his parents' busy careers Adam and his younger brother Casey spent most of their days at their grandmother Lyla's house with her daughter Kate and the babysitter, Marilyn.
In 1996, while his younger brother Casey was missing Adam moved in with Hal Munson (who he didn't know was his father at the time) and Nikki Munson. During this time Nikki found out that Adam was her brother and tried to convince Hal to tell Adam the truth. Hal continued to turn her down, telling her that Tom and Margo had enough to deal with right now with Casey's kidnapping and all.
After Casey was found, Hal finally demanded that Adam be told the truth... despite
the deal Hal, Tom, and Margo had made about not telling Adam until he was
18. When Adam was finally told about his biological father he really had
no reaction. He was excited about getting more presents and commented that
now he had to buy two Father's Day gifts. Hal continued to be "Uncle Hal"
and Tom was just "dad." After he found out about Tom's affair with Emily
Stewart he decided to change his name to Adam Munson. He eventually moved
out of the Hughes home and into the Munson home. He has yet to move back
even though he's forgiven both Tom and Margo for their respective affairs.
Adam had a crush on Georgia Tucker
in 1998. He even became a vegetarian for her (albeit temporarily).
Adam moved back in with Tom
and Margo when Barbara and Hal's relationship was breaking up. He was
going to go to his senior prom with Abigail Williams but they decided
not to go because of their hectic family lives (Abigail's father, Holden
was presumed dead and Adam's father's marriage was breaking up).
In fall 2001, Adam began
college at Oakdale U. He's a communications major and he's doing an internship
at WOAK.
Oh Adam. He hit some bad
times in 2007. He returned from California and framed Will, his BROTHER,
for stealing money from CRASH. Then he attempted to rape Gwen, his sister-in-law.
He was bashed over the head and left for dead by Maddie, his other brother
Casey's girlfriend. He wasn't dead and left town on the run. Good riddance
pod-Adam.
